New/Transfer InterNIC Domains

If you have already registered your domain name through Network Solutions, a transfer template will automatically be sent out. All you have to do is reply to the email from Network Solutions with the word "YES" in the authorization field. If your domain is not registered through network solutions, you will need to go to the web site of your domain name registrar and change nameservers/DNS information. In this case, you would enter the information found here.

If you are registering a new domain, you may download this guide in word format or follow the instructions below.

Thank you for ordering a web hosting account at InterSurge. In an effort to make your new domain registration as painless as possible, we have prepared this document to guide you through the steps necessary to complete a domain name registration. If you have any additional questions after reading this guide please contact support@intersurge.com.

InterSurge recommends you purchase your domain through http://www.joker.com. They are one of the least expensive domain name registrars available, and through our dealings with them we have found that they provide a reliable service. Please note that we do not have any affiliation with this company, nor do we collect any referral fees.

Step 1. Open the joker web site in your web browser by entering http://www.joker.com/ into the location field.

Step 2. First, you will need to register an account at joker. This is completely free, and is used to track your domain name purchases. To register an account, click the "Register Yourself" link on the left navigation bar. Enter your email address in the box, and press the continue button. You will be automatically emailed a password shortly.

Step 3. Now that your account is created, you can purchase your domain(s). Simply click on the "Order a domain" link under the "Domain" menu on the left hand side of the page. You will need to log in by entering your email address and the password that was generated for you.

Step 4. Enter the domain name you wish to order (without the www) in the box shown. On the next page, select the domain you want by checking the appropriate box. Click continue.

Step 5. On the next page, click GO ADVANCED. You will want to enter your own name server information.

Step 6. Fill in the appropriate information regarding the contact information for the domain. Scroll until you find the link titled "Provide DNS Information" under the "DNS-SERVICE" category.

Step 7. Enter the following information into the appropriate boxes:
Primary nameserver: NS.INTERSURGE.COM
IP: 64.176.60.21

Secondary nameserver: NS2.INTERSURGE.COM
IP: 64.176.61.7

Step 8. Make sure you have entered all the other contact information into the appropriate boxes, and click Continue order. You should be brought to a confirmation/payment page where you will review your order and enter payment information.

Step 9. After payment information is entered, you should receive a confirmation via email that the order for your domain name was successful. Usually, you will have to wait between 1-3 days for the domain order to go through and the DNS to be updated. After this, your domain should start functioning properly.

Step 10. CONGRATULATIONS! You have registered your domain and pointed it to your account on our servers. Now, you may upload your web site using the IP address provided in your welcome email.

If you encounter any problems or have additional questions, please email support@intersurge.com. Thank you for choosing InterSurge!
